Scheduling an  Appointment

To make an initial appointment, please call, leave a voicemail or text to Dr. Lucia Kajima at (415)987-1594 with the following information: your name, reason for your visit, and contact details. You will be contacted within 24 hours and assisted with setting up your patient portal access to ensure safety and confidentiality of your personal health information. Once you have your patient account, you will fill out an online Health Questionnaire, review and sign all necessary forms for your appointment.

You can book follow-up appointments online, request them via your patient portal or via text message to (415)987-1594 with your preferred date and time. Dr. Kajima will confirm your booking within 24 hours of your request.

Cancelling/Re-scheduling an Appointment

If you need to re-schedule or cancel your appointment, please allow at least 24-hour advanced notice. Please avoid re-scheduling appointments unnecessarily, as this often hurts not only Dr. Kajima’s schedule but that of other patients, too. A charge for less than a 24-hour notice will be applied.

For more questions regarding appointments, please see FAQs.

Payment, Insurance, and Superbill

The payment in form of cash, check or credit card is accepted at the time of the service. At the time of your initial appointment, you will be asked to provide credit card details to secure your appointment.

At this time Dr. Kajima is not contracted with medical insurance companies. However, if your insurance plan covers acupuncture treatments, Dr. Kajima can issue you a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. To learn whether your treatment will be covered, you must call the customer service number on your insurance card and ask if you have coverage for acupuncture services. In addition, your inquiry should address issues of deductibles, limitations of coverage, and whether acupuncture is limited to specific conditions that are evidence-based.
